Featured in many TV programs and with fans worldwide, his key characteristics are the unique tsuchime (hammered pattern) he hand-hammers into the blade, and the overwhelming sharpness provided by the premium Super Gold HSS steel. The Senko series is a beautiful collection with a tsuchime pattern designed on the blade, inspired by "light." As a master craftsman, he handcrafts each piece, making these blades precious due to their limited production. The handle was developed by Akiyuki Sakamoto of Edit Japan, a traditional Japanese craft producer, in collaboration with Mai Kobo, a collective of artisans from Tokushima Prefecture specializing in a unique technique called "wood indigo dyeing." Building on the success of the previous "Aizen Knife," which combined knives with indigo dyeing, this collaboration has evolved further. This time, we've incorporated Tenmoku, a ceramic technique, and Kanshitsu, a lacquerware technique, into the indigo dyeing. This results in a unique look characterized by the textured surface for an improved grip and the antibacterial properties said to be present in indigo. Please take a look at this one-of-a-kind collaboration knife, featuring Mr. Kurosaki's "Senko" and the "Tenmoku" of indigo dyeing.

About the Sheath<brOriginally, Mr. Yu Kurosaki's knives did not come with sheaths, so Edit Japan developed original sheaths for this series. All sheaths feature a "kiritsuke-gata" (angled tip) shape. Additionally, by making the cross-section a mountain-like two-sided shape, the design highlights the bright and shadowed parts of the Tenmoku pattern. Furthermore, small ingenious details have been incorporated, such as tying the pin to the sheath with a string to prevent it from being lost.

About Engraving<brMr. Yu Kurosaki's signature is engraved on the blade of this product.<brPlease note that custom engraving is not available.

Handling / Precautions<br- Do not cut or strike bones or frozen foods.
