Flash Indigo Tenmoku

This premium series was created for enthusiastic Japanese knife fans in Europe and the US, and is now exported to six countries. It was completed after five years of prototyping and much trial and error.

The theme is "further evolution of the collaboration between knives and indigo dyeing." The blades were made by Yu Kurosaki from Fukui Prefecture, a world-renowned craftsman in Japan.

The handles and sheaths are lavishly adorned with "Tenmoku," a ceramic technique, and "Kanshitsu," a lacquerware technique, both applied over indigo dye.

The uneven surface is created by forming the indigo into small balls. A waterproof coating, compliant with the Food Sanitation Act, is then applied over this. This elaborate craftsmanship not only provides visual appeal but also functionality in terms of grip comfort.

The sheath was redesigned from scratch to express the world of this series.
The raised, mountainous shape allows the shadows of the Ai Tenmoku to be clearly seen.
Additionally, a new attempt was made to tie the pin to the sheath body with a string to prevent it from being lost.

Well received by Japanese knife enthusiasts abroad, production could not keep up with demand for a time, and resale prices climbed far above retail.
More than 500 pieces were sold in 2024, taking Japanese craftsmanship to buyers around the world.
